The Cadet Program is for youth aged 12 to 18.  We meet every Tuesday nights between the hours of 18h45-21h15 from September to June at the CFS Leitrim Station Mess Hall.
It is sponsored by the Canadian Forces and three civilian organizations: the Navy League, Army Cadet League and Air Cadet League. The aim of the Program is to develop in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership and promote physical fitness.  They are encouraged to become active, responsible members of their communities.  It helps them develop self-confidence, self-esteem and teamwork.  Other benefits may include high school credits, scholarships and training in public speaking.

There is no enrolment or registration fees, basic activities of the Cadet Program are covered.  Uniforms are provided at no charge and cadets selected for cadet camps attend at no cost. The Cadets are supervised by members of the Canadian Forces, most of whom are among the 7500 members of the Canadian Forces Reserve Cadet Instructor Cadre (CIC).  Its members are specially trained part-time members of the Canadian Forces who dedicate their spare time to the development of Canada’s youth.

CO'S COMMENTS
  • Thank you everyone for participating in Tuesdays visit. Hopefully you were able to learn a little more about and ask questions about the dangers of drugs.
  • Next week-end is our Spring FTX which will be held at CFS Leitrim. More information will be forwarded to you shortly.
  • Permission forms and kit lists will be available on Tuesday for the cadets
  • In 2 week-ends time, it’s our 40th Anniversary ACR and that means getting our boots shined and uniform pressed! It’s also the perfect opportunity to invite members of your family to join us in celebrating this awesome achievement!
  • Tent-Down will be held on the 10th June at 0800am at 1 Donald Street. As everyone knows, it can be physically demanding but this event pays the Corps the much needed funds it needs to hold the many events during the year – attendance is mandatory.
  • If you have outstanding camp Forms please bring them back signed as soon as possible.
